Part/Full Time Sales Teammate

The Sales Teammate is responsible for assisting customers throughout the entire shopping experience. This includes greeting customers when they enter the store, helping customers find products, providing product recommendations, answering questions, and processing purchases through the POS register.
The Sales Teammate represents the company and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while answering customer questions about the products and services we offer. Sales Teammates are expected to continuously develop their knowledge of company products, brands, services, promotions, and policies.
Complaint handling is also an important part of this position. The Sales Teammate should be able to turn a frustrated customer into a satisfied customer by using empathy, patience, and good judgment while following company policies.
The Sales Teammate is also responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and organization of the sales floor, including merchandise, signage, displays, and fitting rooms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Open and close the store according to company procedures.
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional, and outstanding customer service.
- Respond to customer questions and identify their needs.
- Assist customers in finding merchandise and making purchasing decisions.
- Provide accurate product knowledge and recommendations.
- Operate the POS register and process customer transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions and balance the cash drawer.
- Process returns and exchanges according to company policies.
- Achieve established individual and store sales goals.
- Increase in-store sales through active customer engagement.
- Cross-sell and recommend complementary products to increase sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Explain product features, benefits, sizing, fit, and appropriate use to customers.
- Introduce customers to promotions, special offers, and the store loyalty program.
- Maintain superior knowledge of products, brands, promotions, and company policies.
- Maintain an orderly and visually appealing sales floor, merchandise, displays, and fitting rooms.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and replenishing merchandise as needed.
- Assist with inventory and purchasing-related tasks when requested.
- Follow directions and procedures provided by managers and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Provide support to other team members and management as needed.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Previous experience opening and closing a retail store.
- Availability to work approximately 30 hours per week.
- Previous retail or sales experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to learn and maintain strong product knowledge.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash accurately.
- Professional appearance and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
